EVAL(EVIL)

Two halves of one life, weighed as one number: the life you lived where witnesses could see it, and the life you typed when you believed no one was watching.

The system is called EVAL. It does not kill first. It takes things — your standing, your credit, your keys, your open doors — one rung at a time, down a ladder that ends at food and water. The clean are never touched. Most of the world wakes up cleared and goes to work.

The rest are given the chance to explain themselves.

They call it Defending Your Life. The Game of the AI Gods. A full-immersion proceeding in which you argue for the life you have actually lived, choice by choice. There is no fee and no limit on attempts. But nothing pauses while you decide.

And you cannot fake it. The test does not grade your answers. It grades your answers against you — against a lifetime of baseline the system already holds.

The record holds everything you have ever done — online and off. Is that who you are?
